UNIFICATION PROCESS
The formation of Holy Family Parish in January 2014 was the product of a city-wide, diocesan effort called “Renewing the Church in New Brunswick,” that spanned three years prior to the formal establishment of the new parish.
At the end of the process, in 2014, the Catholic community in New Brunswick was recast with four parishes:
Holy Family, Visitation, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel and St. Peter the Apostle University Parish. These four form the New Brunswick Deanery jurisdiction of the Metuchen Diocese.
Holy Family had its first pastor installed on March 9, 2014. For coverage of that event, please click here and then select the March 27, 2014 e-edition of The Catholic Spirit.
