Holy Family Worship Times

Our communal celebration of the liturgy at Holy Family Parish exemplifies both our diversity as a community and our unity as the one Body of Christ gathered around the same table. We celebrate Mass in four different languages at three different churches across the City of New Brunswick, all with the same spirit that characterizes Holy Family as a vibrant faith community. No matter the language or location, all are welcome to join our celebration. Worship Times

Masses are held in Sacred Heart Church (56 Throop Ave.), St. Ladislaus Church (213 Somerset St.), and St. Joseph Church (293 Somerset St.)

Holy Day Schedule

In addition to Sundays, the Catholic Church has designated six dates on the liturgical calendar as Holy Days of Obligation: The Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God (January 1), the Ascension of the Lord (40 days after Easter Sunday), the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary (August 15), All Saints Day (November 1), the Feast of the Immaculate Conception (December 8), and the Nativity of the Lord (December 25). Depending on the day of the week on which each date falls, however, the bishops’ conference may determine that attending Sunday Mass fulfills the obligation for the Holy Day. Please keep an eye on the parish bulletin as each date approaches for more information. The full liturgical calendar can also be found on the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ website

A full schedule for each Holy Day, and for other special liturgies during the year, will be posted in advance in the parish bulletin and on our website. Two of the days where we see the most Church attendance are not Holy Days: Ash Wednesday and the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe. We vary our schedules yearly to accommodate the anticipated need.  We also hold a number of special liturgies with a social justice or healing theme.  Please check our website, bulletin or social media for the latest of these types of worship.
